Frequently Asked Questions

IS THERE A FEE TO ENTER?

True to the nature of Santa, the Nate and Mary Ida Doan Santa House, Inc. is free to all who visit. Donations are always welcome.

DO YOU TAKE PICTURES?

We always have a volunteer available to take and print 4×6 pictures for your child or group. These pictures take approximately 1 ½ minutes to print and are shared with you in a special Santa frame/folder. The cost is $5 per print regardless of how many people are in the shot.

CAN I TAKE MY OWN PICTURES?

You are always welcome to bring your own camera/phone to take pictures. Our volunteers are also willing to use your device to take some pictures for you so that everyone can get in the memories.

DO YOU TAKE CREDIT CARDS?

Yes! We have a card reader available to pay for pictures as well as to take donations.

ARE PETS ALLOWED?

Although Santa loves furry, finned, and feathered friends, he asks that you do NOT bring them to his special house. He typically schedules special days at the mall and local pet stores for you to bring your pets for pictures.

IS THE HOUSE HANDICAP ACCESSIBLE?

Yes, the house is completely handicap accessible. Santa welcomes children of all abilities to come see him at the Santa House.

WHAT DATES AND HOURS IS THE HOUSE OPEN?

The house is open each year from the Saturday after Thanksgiving until December 22nd.

DO WE HAVE TO BRING A CHILD IN ORDER TO VISIT SANTA?

Absolutely not! All ages are welcome to visit the Santa House. Come, look around, talk to Santa, go out and tell others, bring others back and repeat.

CAN WE VISIT SANTA MORE THAN ONCE PER SEASON?

See the previous question and answer ;). Please feel free to visit the Santa House as many times as you would like.

WHERE SHOULD I PARK WHEN I GET TO SANTA’S HOUSE?

When we are not busy, feel free to park in the street in front of the house. During busier times, use the parking lot across the street.

DO YOU CLOSE DUE TO POOR WEATHER?

Since Santa is used to snow at the North Pole, it is extremely rare that we close. However, if the decision is made that it would be safer for visitors to stay home, Santa will put the closing on local tv and radio stations.

HOW LONG WILL I HAVE TO WAIT TO SEE SANTA?

Wait times vary greatly. Opening night is a very busy time. Additionally, Fridays and Saturdays throughout the season tend to be busier than weeknights and the longer you wait toward the end of the season, the longer you can expect to wait. Santa does his best to keep the line moving when the crowd is thick, however, it is important to him to get to talk to every person who wishes to see him.

IS FOOD ALLOWED INSIDE THE SANTA HOUSE?

We encourage you to leave food and drinks outside of Santa’s house.
